The Great North Carolina Barbecue Debate: Vinegar vs. Tomato

One of the great debates in our state is Eastern-style Barbecue versus Piedmont, or Lexington, style Barbecue, and many have come to near blows over this. The biggest difference is in the "dip" recipe, where Eastern-style is vinegar-based and Lexington-style is tomato. Learn about the history of this culinary split, cooking differences and some recommendations for the best places offering each style.
